Nest boxes ready for the next season

There are now over 60 nest boxes, a mix of woodcrete and wooden boxes, in our woodland which is comprised of Oak, blackthorn and hazel. They have been used by Blue Tits, Great tits, Nuthatches and Pied Flycatchers. We monitor the boxes during the breeding season to identify First egg dates (FED) which when compared between years can help us track effects of climate change and also we monitor to identify the breeding success of each of these species.
